TheGBIC transceivermodel is based on the GBIC Multi Source Agreement. It is extremely compatible with the Gigabit Ethernet and 1000Base-T Standards as specified in IEEE STD 802.32. The Copper GBIC transceivers use the GBIC's RX_LOS pin for link indications with the 1000Base-X auto-negotiation function disabled on the host system. The CWDM GBIC or Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing Gigabit Interface Converter is made up of two parts. One part has a set of eight different pluggable transceivers and the other part contains a set of passive multiplexers.
